Student affairs

Within Selwyn all students belong to the Junior Combination Room Society (JCRS for short), which is their own student union.

The JCRS has its own purpose built space located in Ann’s Court, where there is a meeting room, a games room, a TV room and a small shop. The JCRS also puts on entertainments and social events (including the famous Selwyn Snow Ball), as well a providing a range of welfare services.

The day-to-day affairs of the JCRS are run by an elected committee. In addition, members of the Committee sit on the College’s Governing Body and Council, providing a direct voice for students in both the strategic and day-to-day management of the College. Selwyn is proud of having a history of good relations between its Senior Members (the Fellows) and the student body. This is in no small part due to the active and significant role played by the JCRS in all parts of College life.
