 A message from the Master

Professor Richard BowringSelwyn College in the 21st century is a thriving and dynamic institution which is proud to be an integral element of one of the top universities in the world. Over the past 100 years the College has evolved into a place that both respects its own traditions and looks forward to an exciting future as part of collegiate Cambridge.

It will not surprise you to learn that there is a continuing, marked attrition in resources provided by Government and the College must diversify and increase its income streams if we are to continue provide the best education we can for those generations of students on which the future of all of us depends.  The support of alumni and friends is crucial to this endeavour.

Please do explore these pages through the links below, which outline the needs of the College, and consider how you may be able to help.  The College can have a bright future with your support.

In 2008-09 the University celebrated its 800th anniversary.  A major fundraising campaign is underway that will help secure Cambridge's excellence in teaching and research for future generations.  Your gift to Selwyn will not only be of direct benefit to the College but will count towards the total funds raised for the 800th Campaign, which is stressing the importance of 'collegiate Cambridge'.

Selwyn College is committed to the highest standards in fundraising and follows the Institute of Fundraising’s Codes of Fundraising Practice, which offer guidance on the law and best practice in all types of fundraising activity.
