at Selwyn College
1. ORGAN AND CHORAL SCHOLARSHIPS
- The Organ Scholarship There are normally two Organ Scholars in residence, a Junior and a Senior, and their duties involve playing for all Chapel Services, both choral and non-choral.
- The Choral Exhibition (Selwyn and Newnham students) Selwyn College was one of the first Colleges to offer Choral Exhibitions to be held in mixed choirs when the current Awards scheme was set up in the late 1970s. Choral Exhibitioners, appointed by the College Council for three years, through the Inter-Collegiate Awards scheme, are expected to give a full commitment to the choir, and are also encouraged to participate in music in the college in general.
2. BOWMAN SCHOLARSHIP
Under the terms of a bequest by the late H. T. Bowman, applications are invited from former pupils of Nottingham High School for an annual Scholarship tenable at Selwyn College, Cambridge. The Bowman Scholarship is intended to assist with the fees and maintenance of a former member of Nottingham High School who wishes to read for an advanced degree of the University of Cambridge/or for the B.A. degree as an affiliated student; or whose undergraduate course entails a fourth year of study that is not funded by the student's local authority. The Scholarship is tenable for one year but in certain circumstances may be renewed for a further one or two years. In determining its value the College Council will take into account any other emoluments received by the Bowman Scholar, but it is not expected that it will ordinarily exceed £5,000 a year.

3. STUDY TIME IN CAMBRIDGE
Selwyn College offers the opportunity for up to four practising teachers at secondary and/or sixth-form level to come into residence for between two and four weeks each in the period between 1st February and 31st July 2007. This residence may be divided into one or more sections, and is intended to give a chance for study and reflection.
