| Selwyn College was founded in 1882 in memory of George Augustus Selwyn, the first Bishop of New Zealand. Built in a Tudor Gothic style and set in secluded grounds, Selwyn College has been a popular venue for local, national and international meetings since Victorian times. Today its tranquil location affords easy access from the M11 and space for parking, and yet the city centre is just a short stroll away through the beautiful college gardens and the famous riverside Backs.
Accommodation
Selwyn offers a choice of accommodation. Our new building, Ann's Court offers superb comfortably furnished en-suite bedrooms as pictured on the right. The Old Court provides a taste of traditional college life whilst the modern study bedrooms in Cripps Court have a shower shared by two rooms.

Conference Facilities

The College has a range of meeting rooms, varying from the Chadwick Room (shown on the left) which can accommodate up to 125 people in theatre style to the smaller Tower Room that can seat 22 people boardroom style.
Day meetings can be accommodated on most weekdays during term.

The Diamond shown here is located on the corner of Grange Road and Cranmer Road and is available for day and evening meetings.
We are currently not taking bookings for wedding receptions.

Catering

The Catering Manager and his team ensure that the individual requirements of each conference are fully met by catering for specific tastes and events within a standard pricing structure. Selwyn College can provide almost anything from bed and breakfast to a formal dinner served in the impressive dining hall, a buffet lunch for a day meeting, or a summer garden party with sparkling wine, strawberries and cream. Vegetarian alternatives are provided and vegan, diabetic, gluten free and other special diets can be catered for on request. There is a licensed bar. |
