Wednesday 22nd November

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is a firm fixture in the city’s annual calendar and, together with the neighbouring Christmas Craft Market, has become a favourite with both residents and visitors to the city from across the UK and Europe.

The largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria, Birmingham’s Christmas Markets offer over 180 stalls selling a huge array of gifts, jewellery, decorations and handcrafted items; as well as a selection of tempting food and drink! Pretzels, schnitzels, bratwursts, and roasted almonds will tempt your taste buds, all of which can be washed down with gluhwein (mulled wine), weissbeer (wheat beer), or tasty hot chocolate!

The Christmas markets are located in the heart of the city, so staff might also wish to use the day to explore! Head to The Bullring for some retail therapy in Selfridges, discover the world-famous Jewellery Quarter or pay a visit to the swanky Mailbox; pop into one of the many museums or simply take time to appreciate the city’s architecture.

However you choose to spend the day, the attractions in Birmingham offer something for everyone in an impressive and compact space with plenty of great cafés, bars and restaurants to see you through the day!

A selection of pictures from the markets last year can be found here.
