Student Affairs

Body

Within Selwyn all students belong to the Junior Combination Room (JCR for short), which is their own student union.

The JCR has its own purpose built space located in Ann’s Court, where there is a meeting room, a games room, a TV room and a small shop. The JCR also puts on entertainments and social events (including the famous Selwyn Snow Ball), as well a providing a range of welfare services.

The day-to-day affairs of the JCR are run by an elected committee. In addition, members of the Committee sit on the College’s Governing Body and Council, providing a direct voice for students in both the strategic and day-to-day management of the College. Selwyn is proud of having a history of good relations between its Senior Members (the Fellows) and the student body. This is due to the active and significant role played by the JCR in all parts of College life.

The JCR website can be found at https://selwynjcr.org and includes profiles of the committee: https://selwynjcr.org/committee_members. There is also the latest news from the JCR on its Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SelwynCollegeJCR
