Selwyn College wishes to build up a pool of casual Housekeeping Assistants to provide occasional cover in times of staff shortages (e.g. sick leave, or when extra staff are needed at busy times of the year). This may include weekends.
As a valued member of our Housekeeping Department, you will be responsible for cleaning kitchens, bathrooms and communal areas. You should be reliable and able to work efficiently and effectively on your own with minimum supervision, with the flexibility to help other members of staff when necessary to meet deadlines. The successful candidates will have previous cleaning experience, flexible and willing to change work routines, and be able to communicate effectively. Full training will be provided.
Casual workers, by their nature, do not work regular hours. The services they provide the College will be on an ad hoc basis. This means that, while the College will try to give casual workers as much notice as possible when offering work, there is no obligation for the College to provide work, nor for any casual worker to accept any work that is offered. The rate of pay is £9.19 per hour, plus holiday pay.
