University card
The UCAM Card (commonly known as a 'University Card') is a contactless identity and access card with the following benefits:
- The card identifies your association with the University. This is particularly important around exam time where you will need your card to gain entrance to your examinations.
- It gives you access to the buildings you will need to use during your time at the University (eg Library)
- It is used as a library card for the University Library, and College and Department Libraries as applicable.
- You can use it for paying for meals in College and it can also be used in the College bar.
- The card will also allow you access to local discounts at businesses in and around Cambridge including a discounted rate on the Universal bus service around Cambridge.
If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, please report it to: cardrep@sel.cam.ac.uk as soon as possible so that it can be revoked and we can apply for a replacement for you. There is a charge for a lost card (currently £12), which will be added to your College bill. Stolen or damaged cards are replaced free of charge, providing a crime number for the stolen card is presented, or by returning the damaged card to the Tutorial Office.
