Selwyn College invites applications for the Spencer-Fairest Teaching Fellowship in Law for a fixed period of five years from 1 October 2026. Preference will be given to candidates specialising in Land Law, Equity, Commercial Law, Civil (i.e. Roman) Law, EU Law, Constitutional Law or Administrative Law, and which are not within the teaching expertise of the existing Fellows.

    Research co-authored by Selwyn Fellow Sarah Fraser Butlin KC is contributing to the national conversation about how to change England and Wales's Employment Tribunal system. 

    Now cases are so backlogged that unfair dismissal claimants can wait up to five years for a hearing.

  • Ramsay Murray Lecture 2026
    The 2026 Ramsay Murray lecture was given at Selwyn on May 15th by Director General at Imperial War Museums (IWM), Caro Howell MBE. Her title was “War and Peace: The role of Imperial War Museums in the twenty-first century.”
  • New Development Director
    Erin Charles will join Selwyn as Development Director on 1 September, succeeding Mike Nicholson, who retires at the end of August after 12 years in the role.
  • Selwyn Football
    Selwyn women’s football team finished runners-up in the Cambridge University Shield on 2 May. A week later, Selwyn men’s football team put in a strong performance in the Cuppers Final, narrowly losing 2–1 to Fitzwilliam. The men's team went on to beat King's, securing promotion to Division 2 to finish off one of the club’s most successful seasons in recent history.
