The College is committed to the principle that all members of the Selwyn community should feel included and that they will be supported in the event that they have concerns or experience situations in which that is not the case.
As regards harassment and sexual misconduct, the University has created a single source of information. It has released the following statement:
The University has created a single, easy-to-access source of information that brings together everything you need to know about how the University prevents and responds to harassment and sexual misconduct. This means that students, whether currently studying with us or looking to do so, and staff can find clear, consistent guidance in one place. It includes clear information about our policies, how to get support, how to raise concerns, and what to expect from the processes we follow. You can find this resource at Harassment and sexual misconduct | Student Support.
All students are expected to read and understand this information and staff are also asked to familiarise themselves with it, so they can help signpost students and understand their responsibilities in creating and maintaining an inclusive community.”
More broadly, and in addition to the other aspects of the College’s pastoral support and the various policies that reflect our commitment to everyone being treated with dignity and respect, the College has designated Discrimination and Harassment Contacts whose role is to provide confidential support to students who may be experiencing any form of discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct.
The contacts will support equality within each College, as well as advising students who have experienced harassment on reporting options, and referring them to specialists for help. Reporting options in College are outlined in the policy on Respect and Dignity.
Any student who feels they have experienced discrimination or harassment may also wish to avail themselves of University support services. The College contacts are:
Dr Ronita Bardhan
Dr Robert Tasker
